Files are securely stored online, accessible remotely, and use our multi-layered protection and strict encryption.

If your administrator has enabled single sign-on (SSO), you'll be able to access Dropbox in the same way you access other applications for work—by entering your SSO password on your organization's sign-in page.

Hi, I'm using a private dropbox account and received an invitation for the company I work with. When I want to add a team account I get the (error) message: 'Sign in to a team account'. The accounts are all basic plans. A colleague of mine has the same setting and it worked. Sign in to Dropbox using your admin credentials. Click Admin Console in the sidebar. Click Settings in the sidebar. Under Authentication, click Single sign-on. Reduce sign-in friction into Dropbox Business with Azure AD single sign-on. Whenever you need to sign in to the Dropbox website, enter your email address and click Continue. You'll be taken to your organization's sign-in page. Enter your SSO password there (not your Dropbox password).

Add a computer to your account

If the Dropbox desktop app on your computer is currently signed into your Dropbox account, you don't need to do anything—the computer has been added to the device list in your account settings and you can keep using the app without having to sign in again.

However, if you need to remove your computer and add a new one, you'll need the latest version of the app to use SSO.

To add a computer to your device list:

  1. Open the Dropbox desktop app.
  2. Select I already have a Dropbox account and click Continue.
  3. Enter your email address and click Continue.
  4. Click the Get your link code button.
  5. If you haven't signed in to your organization's SSO page, you'll be prompted to do so in your web browser. Enter your email address, SSO password (not your Dropbox password), and any other information your organization requires. If you've already signed in, you'll skip this step.
  6. A page will open in your browser and display a code. Click the Copy link code button, or select and copy the code manually.
  7. Go back to the Dropbox desktop app and click Paste, or manually paste the code into the field and click Continue.
  8. Follow the rest of the setup process to finish adding the computer to your Dropbox account.
